The Executive Secretary of the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board, Chukwuemeka Mbah, announced the development in a statement issued on Tuesday in Enugu.
According to him, the beneficiaries include over 500 undergraduate students, 100 postgraduate students and 160 public sector teachers selected from the state’s 17 local government areas and a range of academic disciplines.

He explained that applicants who successfully passed the Computer-Based Test have started receiving text messages and emails inviting them for verification and documentation, which will be conducted according to their respective local government areas.
Mbah said the scholarship programme reflects Governor Peter Mbah’s focus on investing in education, empowering young people and building a skilled workforce capable of supporting the state’s long-term development goals.
He encouraged successful applicants to respond promptly to the notifications to complete the verification process without delay.
The Executive Secretary also disclosed that additional beneficiaries would be included in the next phase of the scholarship programme, urging eligible residents to continue applying.
He noted that the initiative is designed to ensure that financial challenges do not prevent qualified Enugu residents from accessing higher education, adding that the government remains committed to promoting quality education through sustained investments in scholarships, teacher development, digital learning and educational infrastructure.
