Italian Serie A side Lazio have officially appointed Gennaro Gattuso as the club’s new head coach.
The announcement was made on Tuesday through an official statement released by the Roman club.
“S.S. Lazio S.p.A. announces that it has appointed Mr. Gennaro Gattuso as Head Coach of the First Team. The Club warmly welcomes its new manager and is confident that his experience, professionalism and determination will contribute to achieving the Club’s sporting objectives,” the statement read.
Gattuso succeeds Maurizio Sarri and arrives at a crucial period for Lazio as the club seeks to recover from a disappointing campaign that saw them miss out on European qualification.
The 48-year-old, renowned for his fierce competitiveness during his playing career, brings extensive managerial experience from spells with AC Milan and Napoli. He most recently managed the Italian national team before stepping down after failing to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
