Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, plans to dedicate one-third of his fortune to charitable causes as part of his long-term legacy, according to his daughter, Halima Dangote.

Speaking in an interview with Bloomberg, Halima said the family has agreed to the plan, which allocates 33% of Dangote's estate to the Aliko Dangote Foundation. Based on current estimates of his wealth, the donation could be worth about $11.7 billion.
She explained that philanthropy has always been central to Dangote's vision, with the foundation focusing on health, education, nutrition, and humanitarian support. The arrangement is also intended to ensure the foundation's work continues for future generations.
Established in 1994, the Aliko Dangote Foundation funds projects across Nigeria, Africa, and other parts of the world. It has supported major public health initiatives, including efforts that helped eliminate wild poliovirus in Africa, and was recently recognized by TIME magazine for its philanthropic impact.
