Ibemesi, APGA Challenge High Court Judgment Over Oyi Constituency Ticket

The legal tussle over the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket for Oyi State Constituency has taken a fresh turn, as Hon. Kosisochukwu A. Ibemesi (Igiligi Aku) has approached the Court of Appeal to challenge a recent High Court judgment that invalidated his candidacy.

Ibemesi, APGA Challenge High Court Judgment Over Oyi Constituency Ticket

In a statement published on his official Facebook page, Ibemesi disclosed that both he and APGA had filed appeals against the judgment. He stated that Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, led APGA’s legal team, while P. I. N. Ikwueto, SAN, led his own legal team.

Expressing confidence despite the legal setback, Ibemesi declared:

“If you constantly beat a child, you will end up making him stronger.”

Reaffirming his claim to the APGA ticket, he signed off his statement with the expressions “Nkwa Chukwu Kwelu Oyi” and “Igiligi Aku 2027.”

The outcome of the appeals is expected to be significant in determining the status of the disputed candidacy ahead of the 2027 Anambra State House of Assembly election.
