Liverpool Complete £34.5m Move for Spain Forward Victor Munoz
Liverpool have won the race to sign Spain international Victor Munoz from Osasuna for a reported fee of £34.5 million ($45.5 million).
The 22-year-old forward, who is currently representing Spain at the FIFA World Cup, has completed a medical at the national team's training base in Tennessee and agreed a six-year contract with the Premier League club.
Munoz becomes the first signing under new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola, who took charge after Arne Slot's departure.
“Liverpool FC have agreed a deal to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna, subject to a successful work permit application and international clearance,” the club said in a statement.
Newcastle United had been in advanced discussions to sign the Spaniard following Anthony Gordon’s move to Barcelona, while Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen were also reportedly interested.
However, Liverpool secured the deal after activating the release clause in Munoz’s contract.
The versatile attacker enjoyed an impressive campaign with Osasuna last season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances.
A product of Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy, Munoz later joined Real Madrid, where he made two senior appearances before moving to Osasuna in July 2025.
Capable of playing on either wing, he is expected to help Liverpool fill the void left by Mohamed Salah’s departure earlier this summer.
Munoz has earned two senior caps for Spain since making his international debut in March and will join his new teammates after completing his World Cup commitments.
Liverpool are also reportedly monitoring Ivory Coast forward Yan Diomande, who plays for Leipzig and is currently featuring at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, French defender Jeremy Jacquet is set to arrive from Rennes in July, with the transfer having been agreed earlier this year.
