Obidike said the Federal Government’s ongoing security reforms and strategic interventions reflect a strong commitment to addressing terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, communal violence, and other security challenges affecting the country. According to him, the Tinubu administration is implementing comprehensive measures to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and improve the operational capacity of security agencies in protecting lives and property. The APC chieftain, who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clarivo Holdings Limited, highlighted the recruitment of additional personnel into the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force as a key step towards expanding security coverage and improving operational effectiveness, particularly in conflict-prone areas. Speaking on state policing, Obidike described President Tinubu as the first Nigerian leader to demonstrate strong political will toward actualising the long-debated initiative. He noted that while previous administrations had discussed the proposal, Tinubu took a significant step by forwarding the necessary legislative proposal to the National Assembly for constitutional consideration. He argued that the establishment of state police would strengthen local intelligence gathering, enhance rapid response to security threats, deepen community policing, and enable officers to better understand the language, culture, terrain, and unique security challenges of their respective communities. Obidike further stated that decentralising policing would ease the burden on the Nigeria Police Force, allowing it to focus more effectively on terrorism, border security, organised crime, and other national security concerns while improving accountability and overall policing efficiency. He also commended the administration’s efforts to modernise the military through the acquisition of advanced security equipment, including armoured vehicles and other operational assets, as well as its commitment to strengthening collaboration among the military, police, intelligence agencies, and other security institutions for more coordinated operations. On the recurring clashes between farmers and herders, Obidike welcomed the President’s support for ranching as a sustainable alternative to open grazing. He described the policy as a practical solution capable of reducing violent conflicts while boosting agricultural productivity. Expressing optimism about the country's future, Obidike said the reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration would not only address Nigeria’s current security challenges but also position the country as one of the safest and most stable nations on the African continent in the years ahead.
