Anambra Police Discover Locally Made Pistols, Cult-Linked Caps
The Anambra State Police Command has reported the recovery of two locally manufactured pistols and three caps carrying an inscription associated with the Vikings Confraternity in Awka North.
The discovery was made during a patrol near Isuaniocha Bridge, after officers reportedly noticed two men on an unregistered motorcycle behaving suspiciously.
According to the police, the riders attempted to escape when they spotted the patrol team. They later abandoned the motorcycle, a bag and footwear before running into a nearby bush.
A search of the abandoned bag allegedly uncovered the firearms and caps.
Police authorities say efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspects and determine the circumstances surrounding the possession of the recovered items.
The Anambra Commissioner of Police has directed officers to intensify the search for the fleeing individuals.
Investigation and efforts to apprehend the suspects are continuing.
