The newly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra State, AIG Miller Dantawaye, has officially assumed office as the 10th substantive AIG overseeing police operations in Anambra and Enugu States.
AIG Dantawaye takes over from AIG Godwin Eze, who recently retired from the Nigeria Police Force after attaining the mandatory retirement age, bringing to a close a distinguished and meritorious career in policing.
Addressing journalists shortly after assuming duty at the Zonal Headquarters in Ukpo, AIG Dantawaye expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to build on the operational successes and institutional reforms recorded by his predecessor.
The new Zonal Police Commander assured officers, stakeholders, and residents of Anambra and Enugu States that his leadership would be driven by professionalism, discipline, intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights, and strengthened collaboration with sister security agencies to tackle crime and enhance public safety.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding lives and property, improving service delivery, and fostering greater public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force through effective community policing and sustained engagement with citizens.
The Zone 13 Police Command, which covers Anambra and Enugu States, reiterated its resolve to maintain peace, law and order while advancing the strategic policing agenda of the Inspector-General of Police.
A seasoned police officer with decades of operational and administrative experience, AIG Dantawaye has served in several strategic capacities within the Nigeria Police Force, including Divisional Police Officer, Area Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Police in Kogi State and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Federal Operations at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, before his latest appointment.
