Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Portugal national football team to a commanding victory as he scored twice to become the first player ever to find the net in six different editions of the FIFA World Cup.
The Portuguese captain produced another memorable display, leading his side to a 5-0 win over Uzbekistan national football team in their Group K clash.
Ronaldo’s brace added yet another milestone to his remarkable career. Having already scored at the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups, the 41-year-old has now extended his record by scoring at the 2026 tournament as well.
The victory lifted Portugal to the top of Group K and strengthened their chances of advancing to the knockout rounds. Ronaldo’s goals also underlined his enduring importance to the team despite being in the latter stages of his illustrious career.
For Portugal, the emphatic win was the perfect response after their opening draw against DR Congo, while Ronaldo once again demonstrated why he remains one of football’s greatest-ever players.
His latest achievement adds to a record-breaking résumé that includes five Ballon d'Or awards, multiple UEFA Champions League titles, and status as Portugal’s all-time leading scorer. With the knockout stage approaching, Ronaldo has shown he can still be decisive on football’s biggest stage.
